Recasting is basically upgrading your gear to a higher tier, and unlike enhancing, recasting is never 100%, and each recast level decreases in success rate the higher you go until R5, R6 and R7 where the success rate is always 100% due to the materials being different and more difficult to get. Each successful attempt will enable you to further enhance and refine the recasted piece of equipment. It will also change your equipment's appearance and name. (Gear alternates between RDL (Red Dragon Legendary) and IDL (Ice Dragon Legendary) with each successful recast, while costume items will change (starting at R5) depending on which set you have or started with.) Remember that all of your gear (armor, weapons and accessories), and all of your costume items can be recasted (but to recast costume items you need to use other recastable costume items).

R1 = 90%, R2 = 49%, R3 = 19%, R4 = 13%, R5, R6 & R7 = 100%

Recasting should always be your last step in the process of upgrading your gear, because if you recast first before enhancing or refining, then it will cost you a lot more to enhance and refine further. So remember to always enhance and refine your gear to the max first before you recast it. Your equipment will get to a point where it won't let you enhance or refine it anymore, even if you try to, until you recast it, so you'll know.

The recasting process is similar to that of the refining. To recast your equipment just go over to a disassembler near a blacksmith and choose the 2nd option. Next, place the piece of equipment you want to recast on slot 1, followed by 3 RDL (Red Dragon Legendary) Boots or Gloves as sacrifices on slots 2, 3 and 4.

The success rate, materials and amount of gold you will need for the recast attempt will be displayed once you place each piece of equipment in each of their respective slots. An example is given below.
